The surrounding villages of Ubud are dedicated to traditional arts.
Artist compounds of traditional painting can be visited in the villages of Penestanan and Pengosekan. Wood and mask-carvers are found in the village of Mas, and stone carvers are concentrated in the area of Singapadu and Batubulan.
